Largus sp., male
ID confirmed from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks Iustin.
Will have to wait for the revision to put a name on him. Several species now in the guide (succinctus, cinctus, californicus) look very similar and Texas is right smack in the middle of everything.

Largus for sure; the genus is being revised...
...but for the time being the taxonomy is too messy to provide sp.-level IDs, except for a few very distinctive ones
