Coccinella difficilis?

Coccinella difficilis?
Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 12, 2014
Originally thought these were C. 7-punctata and I almost didn't even bother to take the photo. After reading Abigail's remarks here I think this could be an example of C. difficilis:

There were quite a few of these around, and I think a few of the pupae on the trees as well belonged to this species. If I can get a confirmation that this is indeed C . difficilis, I will be looking out for the adults as it seems the guide is currently lacking.

Thanks v for the crops and moves
I really need to get better about that.

Anyhow, I think I may have gotten over-excited on this one ... I suppose this one turns out to be boring old Hippodamia convergens? I had completely forgotten about that species but it's probably a better match...

I'd rather wait for Mrs Parker
lovely pic, she'll get to it at some point and we'll know
