Symphypleona - Sminthurinus latimaculosus

Symphypleona - Sminthurinus latimaculosus

Can anyone ID it further?

Sminthurinus latimaculosus
Given the recent upload of detailed pictures of S. atrapallidus by Scott Justis, I realised your pictures are of specimens of a different species. Sminthurinus latimaculosus has white legs as atrapallidus, but also a head that is much more pale than the body. In addition at the back of the head, laterally, there is a large dark spot, hence latimaculosus (= with lateral spot).

Sminthurinus
It could be quadrimaculatus (but then the rare form with just 2 white spots). Did the specimen has any white spots laterally on its abdomen?

I don't think it had any spots.
However it was incredibly small and I could't tell any details with the naked eye; even with the camera it was hard. If it helps these are the most common globular springtails in my area. Thanks for the numerous IDs, Frans!
