Very Large Leafhopper - Cyrpoptus belfragei

Very Large Leafhopper - Cyrpoptus belfragei
Lenexa, Johnson County, Kansas, USA
June 21, 2014
Size: ~13 mm
Found on greenbriar, thought it was a moth at first! Length is tip of head to tip of wing tip. Never seen such a big one before! When I returned it to the vine, it immediately lined up with a cut edge....which might explain the strange face markings which appear to mimic a cut off twig end.
