ID
May I ask how you arrived at this ID? If it is confirmed, we could move this image to the species page.

I didn't do a detailed morpho
I didn't do a detailed morphological examination, but Trirhabda geminata is the only species of Chrysomelid that feeds on this particular host plant, Brittlebush (Encelia farinosa)-- see this abstract. Also, it fits the range and habitat description here, and is well-known in the local entomology community (U.C. Riverside). The larvae are abundant on the Brittlebushes around here in the springtime.

Moved to species page -
I've added the reference ( a fascinating article) to the information page, including a link to the abstract.
I found an image on the internet of what seem to be larvae of T. geminata (the present image is also posted there): 1, and a photo of a Trirhabda larva gored by a predatory hemipteran (scroll down to image).
Now we just need some photos of adults.

adult
Well, the first link is to another one of my photos!

I have uploaded a photo of an adult T. geminata here.
