Synchroidae - Synchroa punctata

Synchroidae - Synchroa punctata
Meredith, Belknap County, New Hampshire, USA
Size: 11 - 15 mm
Our first lifecyle series from this family was posted by Tom Murray but I figured a second series would help fortify the evidence. Afterall, it's always possible to mix up larvae as I have no doubt done on occasion.

These larvae were collected Christmas Day, 2006 by stripping bark from a pile of large logs. I'm unsure which deciduous species of log these were in but it was not oak. The somewhat smooth bark was light gray, definitely not oak, maple or ash.
