A unlucky one indeed...
Yeah he was an unlucky one...I thought he looked a little too bulbous in the back to be a beetle. I was hunting them from the ground, and crawling around in that sand pit turned out to be a bad idea...I ended up with several Dasymutilla stings to the stomach. Is it possible that these are a prey for the Dasymutilla, because they were all living within the same 10ftx10ft area?
