Tenebroides laticollis (Horn), male
ID confirmed from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks Tom.

I initially thought T. nanus based on weakly impressed last 3 striae and middle of basal marginal pronotal bead broadly interrupted. However, this specimen has pits on the submentum (indicating sex) which indicates T. laticollis. No mention of pits is made in Barron's description of T. nanus. He also states of T. nanus: "vertex without median impession"; this character is clearly evident in the specimen. If T. nanus truly lacks submental pits, most of our guide images are not correctly placed. Sorry for the extended rambling. :)
