Last sawfly larva, 9 days later. - Neurotoma edwardi

Last sawfly larva, 9 days later. - Neurotoma edwardi
Oak Ridge, Guilford County, North Carolina, USA
July 6, 2014
Size: ~16mm
As of today, all but one of the sawfly larvae have abandoned the nest, and have disappeared.
They chewed up about of the leaves on the last two feet or so of the cherry branch, starting at the tip.
I wonder if they are starting up pupate by now or are just foraging individually.
