Litaneutria obscura? - Mantis religiosa - female

Litaneutria obscura? - Mantis religiosa - Female
Bodega, Sonoma County, California, USA
July 6, 2014
Size: 45-50 mm
Specimen was found on the ground in the shade on a warm, sunny afternoon. Very agile and quick, it took some time to get it into my hands. Once there, it relaxed. It avoided an attempted release it to Monardella villosa but found Eriogonum umbellatum acceptable.
