Size: 2.5"
Between 2.5 and 3 inches long. Found resting on compost bin around 3pm. Shady, wooded location (clearing in mature forest). Didn't move when I touched its wings.

Summer Fishfly
I believe it is a summer fishfly according to these pages from this web site. It's a relative of the dobson fly.
