This could be Tabanus americanus. The most important character in sorting Tabaninae is one I can't make out in photos.

 
I was wondering what other aspect...
was needed to confirm the species? I was thinking the size and bright green eyes was good for americanus? I have some other photos I could post. Also, if it were to come back tonight I could aim for the key feature. Thanks!
