Curtomerus flavus

Curtomerus flavus
John Pennekamp State Park, Monroe County, Florida, USA
May 8, 2010
Size: 9mm
I tried to key it out with American Beetles, but aside from Curculionids, there isn't a group I've tried to key that's given me more problems than Cerambycids. I think it's at least in Graciliini, but could be completely wrong. It's from the Keys (collected with permits), so it could be interesting). If you need more photos, let me know.

Moved tentatively; hope Mike confirms
Moved from ID Request.

It would be great to hear from Mike Thomas
but he hasn't commented in a couple of months. Must be busy out in the field. Maybe Vassili will post something.

email
I can't get his email address to work, could you email it to me if you have it, I've been wanting to say hi.

Sorry, we don't
but you can try contacting him through John VanDyk. email John at Iowa State and let him know you would like to contact Mike and he may be able to forward your message

i sent Mike a note
i know he was scheduled for a surgery last week so expect delays

I agree
with Curtomerus flavus. Surgery went well. Am in physical therapy now to restore function to hand.

Excellent,
Hope all goes well for you

Didn't try to key it,
but wonder if it might be Curtomerus flavus?
Mike's Florida cerambycids

Curtomerus
Could be, it looks a little too hairy, but the hairs could have worn off my specimen... Something doesn't look quite right.

After looking in the guide as
After looking in the guide as well, this seems like a good fit, but I'll wait for another weigh in unless you think I should go ahead and move it.
