Phoridae - female

Phoridae - Female
Smith Creek area, Rockingham County, Virginia, USA
July 31, 2006
Size: minute
I believe this is a female in the genus Puliciphora. I plan to slide-mount several and get an identification confirmation from someone in the department soon. I'll update.

Nice photo
particularly for something that's obviously quite small.

Thank you
I found my fairly ho-hum Sony cyber-shot, (which is no good at extreme close-ups)can take a fairly good picture through the dissecting 'scope eyepiece. This little Phorid took the extra measure of stacking watch glasses, as well. Thanks for the compliment!
