Horned Passalus--rear leg - Odontotaenius disjunctus - male

Horned Passalus--rear leg - Odontotaenius disjunctus - Male
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA

Size: 37 mm
Detail of right rear leg. Tarsal formula in this family is supposed to be 5-5-5, and one can see 5 tarsal segments here. You can also see the prominent tarsal claws. I love the long setae on the tibia, and the shininess of all the surfaces.
