Seed Bug - Nysius

Seed Bug - Nysius
Jupiter, Florida, USA
June 23, 2004
Not sure on the genera for this little fella. Browsing through Cedar Creek's Insect photo album, it closely resembles a species of Nysius, however; I could be off...

Could also be...
This might also be a Neortholomus sp., maybe N. scolopax. The differences between this genus and Nysius are very slight, basically depending on whether you think the outer edges of the forewings are parallel-sided (Neortholomus), or expanded outward slightly (Nysius). Great, huh?:-) Update: Nysius it is, according to Dr. Jane O'Donnell, a true authority on these guys:-)
