Wow! These bugs are pretty neat little creatures. : ) I am not familiar with Hebrids, what parts of the country do they live in?

It looks like that one has a little friend beside him.

 
All over the east
Four species are found in New Hampshire, and all of these should occur in Virginia, but they are pond species, not stream/river species.
