red ichneumonid - Ophion

red ichneumonid - Ophion
Hudson, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
This red ichneumonid is something of a mystery to me, having eclosed inside my Osmo*derma rearing container that contains only 2nd-generation captive beet*les. Could it have parasitized one of the first generation, pupated, and waited a year or so to eclose inside the rearing container?

Please let me know if my ID is off.

Color
Why is the color off in most of your pictures? Can't you ask some photographer for help to correct this problem?

I need a real lens.
The lens I'm using for my super-closeup shots is one I ripped out of a defunct black & white photocopier and it distorts the color quite a bit. When I replace my current camera I will get an SLR with full lens interchangeability and will have one or more actual *camera* lenses for closeup work.
