Sachem - Atalopedes campestris - male

Sachem - Atalopedes campestris - Male
Springfield, Virginia, USA
August 21, 2004

Hmmm
I don't think this is a Zabulon, as that species shouldn't have the huge stigma shown by this specimen. I think that indicates a male Sachem(1), but we don't get either species around here so I could be wrong.

Thank you, Joel! I've gone ahead and moved this image and my other recent skipper postings that you have provisionally identified to the Sachem guide page.

Thank you, Robin! The links are especially helpful.
