Found in and under live oak leaves in an area with filtered sunlight. Only a few of these were in the area, but other types of ants were also around.

Sorry for having overlooked these pictures until now. The proof that this widespread species does exist in Southern California too.

I'm very pleased to have any ants IDed. Do you find posts easier to access when done as ID Requests, or when they're a bit more specific than this one? (I'm thinking about going back to doing most such posts as ID Requests and would appreciate your thoughts.)
