Formica archboldi - major worker(s)(pallidefulva group)
Dull color and matt, ashy cuticle are the hallmarks of this species within the pallidefulva group (other species are more shining, with brighter orange-brown parts). Virtually limited to FL, although some occurences from Southern Alabama do exist.
Extreme slenderness of these ants, compared with more "standard" Formica sp., is confusing. That's why I had no clue before remembering the pallidefulva group.
