There are 14 species & 3 subspecies in BugGuide's range. But, per RJ Adams comment in 2010: "The genus is in moderate disarray and is in need of a revision. Numerous undescribed species can be found in most major museum collections".
Identification
Members of this genus usually have iridescent scales on the body. The egg sacs are red, flattened discs fastened to the underside of stones. (1)



Femora with 1 dorsal spine, tibia I usually dark.(2)
