Unknown 'Stink Bug' - Chlorochroa faceta

Unknown 'Stink Bug' - Chlorochroa faceta
Chaves County, New Mexico, USA
August 4, 2014
Found near a small stream. Closest I could come to it is Chlorochroa ligata but not a match.
Would appreciate a species ID.
TIA

Moved tentatively - i think i got it -- very very nice addition!
thanks a ton, Clifford --keep an eye out for them, we need more pics of this neat bug

Moved from Chlorochroa.

ID confirmed by D.B. Thomas:
"Yes, this beaut is probably C. faceta, though I can't rule out C. lineata without seeing the male privates. But the records for C. faceta often mention they were collected along streams, so they are probably associated with rushes, as are many of the Rhytidilomia."

C. faceta
Well, I have a few records over at OdonataCentral but this is the first time I've been fortunate enough for a first like this. I can tell you tat this 'bug' can really move!

i wonder if the reason they're rarely seen might be essentially the same as in the elusive Ch. belfragii which also has a huge range but is seldom collected because the bugs tend to stay very close to the ground in dense vegetation... could you try to check this hypothesis?

looks clever... must ask Don Thomas
