size?
How big is this? If it's over 6 mm, it's probably Achenomorphus corticinus, but if smaller, then one of the other Medonina. I'll hold off on moving it while awaiting more info.

Some kind of rove beetle is my best guess (Family Staphylinidae). One of the experts can probably give you more specifics.

Looks right :) and then it will be surprisingly BG's first August rove beetle from Florida. I'm not sure whether to move it or not, so I'll leave it under ID Requests.
