not sure...
but those might be girly parts sticking out down there (Image 5). Different beetle groups have different forms to their genitalia but that looks more like the ovipositor than the aedeagus.

I'm used to other orders where the ovipositor is a single spike and males have two "claspers", so I assumed that 2 = Male. I'll change to gender unknown to be safe, unless you're actually sure and were just being kind in your phrasing. :-)

not entirely sure...
but beetle claspers are usually closer together than that, combined with the median lobe into an aedeagus. If this was a click beetle I'd be confident that was part of the ovipositor but as I said I am not sure about carabids.
