Thalpius? - Thalpius dorsalis

Thalpius? - Thalpius dorsalis
Franklin County, Missouri, USA
August 15, 2014

Moved from Thalpius.

Could very well be Thalpius dorsalis
which in this case would be important to confirm. Relatively important because if true, it would be a new state record for MO. If you are not comfortable with carabid taxonomy, I recommend that an expert identify this specimen.

Didn't collect it. Stayed up half the night last night
hoping for another but none showed up of course. I'll keep an eye out for another though, might get lucky. I never know what to keep.

I'll have to give a pass for "Thalpius dorsalis"
on this one since it can't be much else. Hoping for another catch from MO, posted, measured, and saved for examination. Now included on the Forum/Registry for new caraboid records.

Thanks Peter, I've looked for one every night since
I read your first comment but haven't found another since. If I ever do, it'll be in the mail to you the next morning.
