Chilocorus stigma

Chilocorus stigma
Victoria, Victoria County, Texas, USA
August 13, 2014
Size: 5 mm
Found it under a rock. In the same area like
Fungus on body, front venter, suggests that this is a male beetle.

Considering that it's infested with fungus, it's good or not to release it?

Chilocorus stigma
The fungus is generally not harmful to its host insect except in a severe infestation that impedes the mouthparts. With only a very minor infestation here, I don't think there's any reason not to release it.
