Calosoma scrutator Fiery Searcher? - Calosoma scrutator

Scrutator
Graham,

It sure does look like a Calosoma scrutator, or something extremely close. Where did you find him, out running around? I'm in Louisiana and didn't expect these to be out for about another month.

Steven

Thanks
I wanted to confirm because my insect ID skills aren't good. I saw a flash of green and purple under a leaf and found this guy. It was a hot day. I've never seen these before, but I've obly been taking pix for a year. Thanks again for the ID!
