A little different than the other bug-eyed staphylinid found in the snowmelt pool.

characteristics that may aid in ID:
In this Stenus, the lateral margin of the abdomen is reduced, and tarsi are quite long. It belongs in the same (smaller) species group as palearctic Stenus similis.
