USA: CA, western AZ, OR, east to ID, NV; Mexico: south to Baja California Sur, and northern Sonora. (Hurd,1952 -see reference below)
In CA found in montane environments: the Transverse Ranges, deserts, Coast Ranges, and Sierra Nevada (to alt. of 2100m).
