Orb Weaver? - Neoscona crucifera

Orb Weaver? - Neoscona crucifera
Homewood, Cook County, Illinois, USA
August 21, 2014
Size: 1" ish
I believe this is an orb weaver. I'd just like confirmation. It spun a HUGE web between our sunflower and grill last night. I was walking on my deck and nearly walked right into it. The web was nearly 2' in diameter.
