Xylopinus? - Tenebrio molitor

Xylopinus? - Tenebrio molitor
Beaver Creek Conservation Area, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
July 30, 2014
Size: approx 16 mm
Found this beetle crawling on our deck at work. The deck overlooks the bank of a creek which is covered with mixed shrubs (chokecherry, saskatoon, white osier dogwood, etc.) The closest image in bugguide I've been able to compare it to is Xylopinus saperdioides but there are so many beetles to choose from it would be great if I could get someone who knows their beetles to take look. You can't really see it in the photos but the legs were reddish coloured. I noticed there is a red form of Xylopinus saperdioides and wondered if mine was an example.Thanks.
