Leptoglossus oppositus Durham County, North Carolina, USA August 27, 2006 Size: 18 mm
Chilled specimen. Shows the 4-segmented beak (divisions marked by the white dots), typical of family Coreidae. Note also the opening for a scent gland visible here (arrow). This is on the thorax between middle and hind coxae, and is also typical of the family. (See family guide page for references.)
