Forked Fungus Beetles convene - Bolitotherus cornutus - Male Female
Merrimack, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
Size: around 9 - 13 mm
Collected as larvae in conks Dec. 9, 2006 and photographed Mar. 17, 2007, these 11 Forked Fungus Beetles were easily placed and photographed in a circle due to their proclivity for playing dead a good long time.

Notice that there are four females, four major males, and three minor males. Does size matter on the FFB dating circuit? If so, I imagine the guys with the puny horns are out of luck.
