Neartica lists 52 North American species.

Identification

This genus has not been comprehensively reviewed in North America since 1892 (Coquillett 1892), and needs to be revised on the basis of genitalic characters. Outside of some better-known local faunas, identification of Villa specimens to species is difficult, and any identifications will be tentative at best.
