Trichopepla semivittata (Say), female
ID confirmed from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks Lisa.

Trichopepla prob. semivittata --det. D.B. Thomas
Moved from Trichopepla.

Moved tentatively... puzzling bug --worn? waxed?
where's the hair???

Moved from Stink Bugs.

The only
hair I can see in any of the pictures is on its legs and what is showing under the abdomen. I really hadn't paid attention to the hair. I am not sure about worn, but I know not waxed.

Edit. I can take different ones if needed . I have it preserved but easy to get to.

i wouldn't mind seeing a profile shot against dark background

I will get one.
I have to let it dry but I will post it in the morning- Later today:)

we'll wait and know; the hairy belly supports my ID
[i'm happy the Big Hair era is over... boy was it horrible... i mean, the hair; the era was reasonably fine]

LOL
My mom had big hair once. It was bad!

i tried hard to nag my female friends into cropping their hair
the most impressive result of my antihair campaign was, however, rather surprising: my daughter married her college professor and shaved her head! she's a mother of four now, but that was not a direct consequence of her desire to please daddy

Sort of
a independent gal! Which is a good quality ( sometimes).
The good thing about hair is it grows back :)
