Isodontia philadelphica - male

Isodontia philadelphica - Male
Pasadena residence near Rosebowl, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 5, 2014
Frequenting my buckwheats, especially E. giganteum.
Please see the second photo submitted Oct. 10, 2014, though taken before pinning the specimen.
Isodontia philadelphica has also been found in the Riverside, CA, area. Doug Yanega compared my specimens to the ones at UC Riverside.

propodeum seems to have pale hairs
so probably not philadelphica.

I. apicalis?

Thanks, John,
your question prompted me to take another look at my specimens and learned in the process.
Both of my specimens have principally erect black hair, not at all like apicalis.
Because I had planned to see Doug Yanega today I thought I'd get his opinion as well
