Conopid with mite attached to abdomen - Physocephala furcillata
Shediac - Saint Anne Road, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada

On low roadside vegetation in wet mixed forest.

Moved from Physocephala.

Hyaline discal cell and relatively short 1st antennal segment (together with overall dark gestalt and other characters) indicate this is P. furcillata...which is also the only known species of Physocephala in the far northeast (i.e New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, etc.)

Thanks!
Thanks very much, Aaron.
