Hale, Yuma County, Colorado, USA
August 31, 2014
Size: 3 cm in length, or so
Feeding with several other species of wasps on apparently dead tree (no leaves, most limbs broken), but probably not quite dead, as openings in the bark were all occupied by various wasps. This individual was the only one of its kind present. Habitat was wide swath of riparian woodlands along the Republican river. Surrounding country side was sagebrush.
