Pygmy grasshopper - Tetrix

Pygmy grasshopper - Tetrix
near Brokenhead River S.of Hwy #1, Manitoba, Canada
June 13, 2014
Size: 8-10mm
I'm leaning towards Nomotettix parvus

Moved
Moved from Pygmy Grasshoppers.

I agree that my ID of the other posting is suspect,

so I'm also moving it here with yours for now. The two do look very similar.

I think this is a young Tetrix
The fastigium is very wide, and the middle femur is lobed below. I suspect it is T. ornata or perhaps T. brunneri, but I'm not sure. The other one mentioned may well be the same (no offense taken).

N. parvus?
I'm not at all sure that mine was indeed N. parvus. Until I find an adult that looks irrefutably like N parvus, I will always have some doubt. No offence to David! Good luck with the identification.

Camo
Beautiful shot and camoflage.

I won't pretend to be an authority, but your ID looks good on surface.
Interesting remarks from David F here.

Thanks
DeeDee is a good friend and I'm familiar with that submission. Her's was farther away from the US border than mine (about a further 115km) so more notable.
