Promachus hinei? - Promachus rufipes - male - female

Promachus hinei? - Promachus rufipes - Male Female
Shenandoah National Park, Albemarle County, Virginia, USA
September 3, 2014
Size: 1 inch+ in length
This sure looks like Promachus hinei (giant robber fly), but the BugGuide range map, as well as other sources, show its range not to include Virginia. Any thoughts? (The mated pair attempted to land in my white hair a couple of times before alighting where I got this shot.)
