Good match
Thanks to Ann who led me to the Phycitinae and Arcola malloi. Based on the very good match with the image of the moth posted by Gary Goss that he confirmed, I am now confident to assign this ID.

Hi
Peter,

This is suggestion is a bit off the wall from a novice, but your moth reminded me to so much of my 5994.3 – Pseudocabotia balconiensis that I decided to look in that area.

Did you consider Hodges #5993? It doesn't look right to me, but it is from Florida. Just a thought.

I keep trying and waiting
Thank you, Ann, for your comments and suggestion. This may be one for "expert attention"! Your 5994.3 looks similar indeed, including palps, but it is from Texas and apparently rare. What's interesting is that it is a phycitine moth and not a crambid which I thought I could be sure about.
