I think this is a tabanid fly - it was feeding on some wildflowers on our land two summers ago. I've not seen it again since... Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, v belov....surprisingly I was shooting with a kit lens, so an 18-55 mm that day. I have a better lens to shoot with now for closer shots, but the kit lens worked well at that moment...lol.
