I've submitted several of these to show difference in coloration. Some individuals are all green, while others have varying amounts of a second color. (Orange here, also some towards peach or pink.) These are very pretty and very shy small butterflies. Host plant is deerweed.

crisp image! And its sitting on a 'Deerweed' (Lotus scoparius), probably a female getting ready to oviposit.

I've been using flash more and couldn't have obtained this heavily backlit shot without it.

I love the way the orange looks like paint; haven't seen others with this type of marking.
