blue-winged water strider - Gerris buenoi
Lucan Conservation Area, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada
April 8, 2004
Size: 6-7 mm
Found in a seasonally flooded pool beside a river; the white shoulder stripe is visible from above. A seed shrimp (Ostracoda) is in front of the strider's right foreleg.
