Fly - Chamaemyia Fly - Chamaemyia

Chamaemyia sp., female
ID confirmed from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks John.

Fascinating that nothing has really been published on the Nearctic Chamaemyia, although apparently all of our species are introduced (or holarctic), based on the species listed in (1). The Manual (2) only says "6-10 spp.; widespread".

Utilizing papers on the European species, this fly would be close to juncorum and polystigma. Hopefully I've got a male from you so genitalia can be matched up.

I posted a number of them
so hopefully you have one. I have a couple years worth of vials sitting here on my desk. I was giving you a chance to get caught up before swamping you with more specimens.

You have grass
You are repeatedly collecting some species associated with grass.

Very true
I did notice that I've posted this fly three times. A large amount of my specimens are swept from grass.

Moved
Moved from Flies.
