Vivid Dancer - Teneral - Argia vivida - female

Vivid Dancer - Teneral - Argia vivida - Female
Fullerton Arboretum, Fullerton, Orange County, California, USA
March 24, 2007
Evidently, this teneral had emerged very recently. It landed in front of me with a very loose, floppy motion that looked more like a crippled lac*ewing than a damselfly. (I'd seen this last year with an ever fresher teneral that was virtually transparent.)

I was at this spot for some time and took a second photo of this same specimen six minutes later. It's interesting how the veins are already starting to fill in and darken in that brief time span.
