Megalopyge opercularis - female

Megalopyge opercularis - Female
Okeechobee County, Florida, USA
March 23, 2007
Size: 15mm
It seems this is not the yellow flannel moth due to the dark areas on legs and wings. Now I'm thinking southern.
It was found in close proximity to adult yellows.

Just wondering
why did you have it as Yellow before? I wouldn't have thought there was enough identifying detail to get it to species.

Yes
I agree. I may have moved to species page from ID request with the adult yellow images I posted without realizing my mistake, or for some reason I thought it was a yellow.
With two, possibly three species in my area, it should have been on the genus page.
I will move images to correct species page after eclosure to avoid one more autocomment.
