Unidentified egg sac (?) in Baccharis pilularis

Unidentified egg sac (?) in Baccharis pilularis
Carpinteria Salt Marsh, Santa Barbara County, California, USA
September 14, 2014
Size: ~1cm
I found this suspended between the branches of a coyote brush plant (Baccharis pilularis). It appears to be hanging from three silk threads. My guess is that it's a spider egg sac, maybe. Grateful for any ideas.

Definitely a spider egg sac
Tetragnathidae would be my first guess, but could be Theridiidae or something else...
