December 19, 2017: Scattering collected prairie seed into a prairie planting, took a break to look close at plants especially those seemingly still holding onto seeds (often seed not viable, sometimes with some insect sign)
Collected Ironweed, Vernonia sp., seed heads

December 27, 2017: This image: spent puparium surrounded by seeds (but you can't see the puparium until more seeds are removed).

Multiple investigations: spent fly puparia, dead fly puparium, 2 larva (possibly parasitoids, one yellow, one white), 2 dead adult wasps each apparently died during emergence
